Booking Terms and Conditions – Deposit, Cancellation and Payment

  1. Booking and Deposit
    1.1. A 50% deposit of the total booking value is required to secure a reservation of the Castle.
    1.2. A booking will only be confirmed once the deposit has been received in cleared funds and written confirmation has been issued by us.
    1.3. By paying the deposit, the Guest confirms acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.

    1.4 A further –‘Good housekeeping deposit’ of £1000 will be asked to cover potential damages. This will be returned within 48 hours of departure, in the circumstance of no damage to the property or belongings. 

  2. Balance Payment
    2.1. The outstanding 50% balance is due no later than one (1) month prior to the arrival date.
    2.2. If the balance is not received by the due date, we reserve the right to treat the booking as cancelled by the Guest and to retain the deposit paid.

  3. Cancellation by the Guest
    3.1. All cancellations must be made in writing (email is acceptable) by the person who made the booking.
    3.2. Cancellations must be made 60 days before guests are due to arrive to receive a refund of the deposit paid, less any non-recoverable transaction or bank fees.
    3.3. Cancellations made within 60 days of check in date will result in the deposit becoming non-refundable, regardless of the reason for cancellation.
    3.4. If the Guest cancels after the balance has been paid (i.e. within one month of arrival), no refund of the balance or deposit will be due. 

  4. Amendments to Dates
    4.1. Any request to change dates will be treated as a cancellation and re-booking, and will be subject to the cancellation terms above, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

  5. Cancellation by the Owner
    5.1. In the unlikely event that we must cancel your booking (for reasons other than non-payment), we will offer either:
    a) alternative available dates, or
    b) a full refund of all monies paid to us for the booking.
    5.2. Our liability will be limited to the amount paid to us for the booking and will not extend to any consequential losses, travel costs, or other expenses incurred by the Guest.

  6. Travel Insurance
    6.1. Guests are strongly advised to take out comprehensive travel/holiday insurance to cover cancellation, curtailment, and other potential losses, including circumstances where deposits and balances are non-refundable.
